films and tours and art festival show

We gals have been really busy with lots of exciting work lately.

We're composing a couple of film scores for a couple of great films, due to be released late this year or early next year. Having plenty of fun with that.

The art festival show collab with Kippi Kaninus is coming along nicely, a month to go now. We're rethinking some of our old material as well as working on some brand new things. If you happen to be in Iceland on the 15th or 16th of May, come and check it out!

Our plans for the summer have been settled now. We have decided to join our good friends in Sigur Rós on their tours around the world in June, July and August, playing strings and possibly some other bits in their set. Fun times ahead :)

Yay, good times on the bus

Wow, we had our instruments and gear shipped this time, instead of carrying them on the plane and having airport people tell us we're crazy and it's not allowed to bring huge flightcases like that on passenger planes... what a huge difference!! We'll definitely do this again :)

The shows were both good, we had lots of fun :) thanks to all of you who came! And the bus rides (in our 18 bunk bus...) were excellent!

We're playing a couple of shows next week, which will be the only ones before our performances at the Reykjavík Art Festival in May which will involve new material and new perspectives.

The first show is at the Bozar in Brussels, Belgium on Friday, February 15th (Buy tickets here)

and the second one is at the Nordklang festival, St. Gallen, Switzerland, February 16th (Buy tickets here)

We've got some warm and cozy hand-knitted slippers, made by the beautiful and temperamental Icelandic sheep, and the good ladies at the Icelandic Hand Knitting Society! And we have some very pretty limited edition hand-made prints, some tea towels, shirts... and of course MUSIC!

In other news we'd like to remind you about the track we recently released in collaboration with the late great Lee Hazlewood. It is now downloadable from i-Tunes.

The 7" version with the extra track will be a little bit delayed, sorry... But we'll get it out there as soon as we can in the new year.

hmmmm...been a while

and we have absolutely no excuse for not having written for 2 MONTHS now. Well, actually we did have a hard time getting online during our tour, but after that we definitely don't have an excuse!

Anyways, the tour was great, we had such an amazing time. Thanks to all of you lovely people who came to see us. It never ceases to amaze us how brilliant our audiences are, always a pleasure to play for you guys!
And having Maggi (our drummer) with us was excellent, we hope you all enjoyed his presence and contribution to the show as much as we did.

We had a video made to Hilli (At the Top of the World), while we were touring. You can see it here. It was made by Nick Abraham, and is dedicated to the memory of Lee Hazlewood. This song was the last recording Lee did, and we girls feel incredibly honored to have been his last collaborators.
We're working on getting the track released, which should be soon. It's going to be on a 7" also, with an additional track on the B-side. We'll let you know as soon as it's settled!

These days we're taking a bit of a break, renewing our energies before beginning to work on new music.
More soon...promise!!

We're having an early packing, everything going into the flightcases now ready to fly with us on Monday morning! We've been having a great time rehearsing with our guest player, so we're all really looking forward to playing lots of shows.
When everything's packed we'll put on our high heels and pretty dresses and go to the premiere of a film called Heima, a documentation of last year's tour around Iceland with Sigur Rós.
Gonna be a bit strange to see our giant selves on the big screen...

Thanks to all of you who have sent us lovely wishes of getting well!
We'll be ready and well before our European tour in October and hope to be able to come to North America before too long.
The Europe dates are being confirmed a few at a time - we've just added some dates in Italy now! Some more dates will follow this week.

We are very sorry to inform you that due to illness within the band, we have had to postpone our North American tour schedule to start in Washington DC next week.

We obviously didn't want this to happen and are very disappointed, but we will soon be over, before you know it!

Thank you to those who have already bought tickets. Of course you will get a full refund, so please go to the point of purchase.

However, we do have some cool things coming up, including a long tour in Europe in October. You'll hear about the other stuff from here and our myspace first, so keep visiting us!

One week to touring

Monday next week we'll be on our way to the USA. Things sort of getting ready, but there are still a few matters to tend to. We've, for example, decided to make more use of our amazing and great sound guy, Finnur, during shows. But we're yet to see how that works out!
And we've just finished work on a very special track. It's still a bit of a secret, but if everything goes as we hope we'll be able to announce that right here before too long!

European tour

Yes, we are touring Europe in October. However, it's been a bit of a puzzle making it all work out, cause in the middle of it all we need to make a short visit to Iceland. But we'll post the dates before long. We can tell you with a fair amount of certainty that the tour involves Portugal, Germany, UK, Denmark and some more countries! And that it starts October 4th :)
